Charlie Kirk’s assassination is shifting from mourning to a call to action. Media voices are calling Americans to honor his memory by adopting Sabbath rest. But the Sabbath being advanced is not the seventh day, Saturday, the biblical Sabbath, but Sunday, the long-standing substitute promoted by Rome and embraced by most of Christianity.
1819 News is a full-service news and multimedia company serving the state of Alabama, and on September 16, 2025, the news company called on people to pick Sunday as the Sabbath to honor Charlie Kirk and even went so far as to call on readers to refrain from shopping and working on that day.
1819 News published the following:
• “In the wake of Kirk’s assassination, many people are looking for ways they can follow in his footsteps, make a difference, and stand up to those who wanted his message silenced. Adopting a sabbath rest seems like one simple way to start. How? Do as Kirk says. Pick a day – Sunday is a logical choice – and turn off your phone. Turn off your computer. If they’re off, you don’t have to reply to that text or email – they will be there Monday morning when you get up. You won’t have to see headlines, hear the political vitriol, or watch debates on X or the Sunday talk shows – they’ll be there Monday morning, summarized nicely in short videos, saving you loads of time weeding through all the garbage.” [1]
• “At the same time, use your sabbath rest to foster rest in others. Don’t use the day to go shopping or eat out at a restaurant. Those who work at such places need a day of rest, too, and by frequenting them on Sunday, we only make it more difficult for them to obtain that rest. The same goes for other places of work—the less we as employers or employees seek to do work on our day of rest, reply to work emails, or ask our fellow comrades to do so, the more they are able to also rest.” [1]
The article claims that the way to honor Kirk is by “picking a day—Sunday” for spiritual rest in church and mental health by staying away from work. This shift is significant because the event of Kirk’s death is being used to rally society into a visible, collective Sunday practice. This is precisely the type of religious and political momentum Adventists have long warned would come in the last days.
The message is: don’t shop, don’t eat out, and don’t work on Sunday because others need rest too. This is a call to embrace Sunday rest. When individuals are urged not to patronize businesses on the first day of the week, this is creating pressure to conform. The next logical step is legislation: closing stores, shutting down commerce, and mandating rest for the sake of the “common good.”
Adventists have long connected this with the prophecy of Revelation 13, which reveals that economic pressure will one day be used to enforce worship—‘that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark’ (Rev. 13:17). What is now being promoted in the media through the power of persuasion will ultimately move toward regulation and enforcement under the theocratic state that Christian nationalists are seeking to establish in this nation.

“Que ton règne vienne”. Oui, viens, Seigneur Jésus.
I’ve listened to some of the talks Charlie had regarding the Shabbat, and he never said “pick a day”… as a matter of fact, he encouraged his audience to keep Saturday from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
Thanks
God never tells us we shall know them by their words or what they claim, but:
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. ”

I’d like to add that he was not showing signs of converting to Catholicism, he did not agree w the papal hierarchy. He also was not venerating Mary, he said she was very important but I believe it’s being taken out of context.
What I do see happening is that his assassination is ushering a revival that could be easily corralled into Sunday laws. Also, his wife being CEO of TPUSA, now sets them up on course w the RCC. This very thing is why I think he was killed. He was a very significant complication within their own agenda, as he began awaking to biblical truths.
That’s exactly the word he used -“venerate”.

I’m sorry to be bombarding with replies, but in watching the Sunday Law Update w Dr O, I was just thinking that bc of Charlie Kirk’s book on the Sabbath, and his influence and revival after his death, the Vatican wanted to get ahead of the movement, as I’m sure they have the power to obtain the manuscript of his book ahead of its release, maybe even through his wife. Therefore now they made Saturday holy…
Just a thought.
God says Do Not be Deceived various times, is it any wonder why we cannot believe everything we hear and see?! Thank God for his illuminated word and Holy Spirit!
Bro Andy, I remember some of the articles you produced of some who are calling for sunday observance quoting the 4th Commandment, and right after telling everyone that sunday is the day.
I realized this trend was starting to fake form where they would say that God Created the heavens and earth in six days, and rested on the seventh, but yet they still point to sunday.
