On August 14, 2025, Bishop John Arnold published a lengthy statement for the tenth anniversary of Laudato Si’, calling for action “at all levels of society—from the personal to the parish, in politics and business” to address the “environmental crises of our time.” He also reminded the public that both Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV have emphasized the urgency of addressing the climate crisis, claiming it is something we simply cannot ignore.
In a world where unbiblical secular agendas are advancing by leaps and bounds, where the practice of faith is collapsing, and souls are living without the hope of the gospel, Rome has chosen to prioritize saving the planet while neglecting the salvation of souls. The Catholic Church released the following statement from Bishop John Arnold.
• “In a statement to mark this year’s Season of Creation, the Lead Bishop for the Environment for the Bishops’ Conference, Bishop John Arnold, has called for Catholics in England and Wales to take action to address the environmental crises of our times. This action, he says, needs to take place at every level in society—from the personal to the parish, in politics, and in business.” [1]
• “Bishop Arnold also urges Catholics and people of goodwill to be challenged by Pope Francis’s 2015 encyclical letter on Care for our Common Home, Laudato Si’, to change our lifestyles, build healthy communities, and to educate ourselves and others on integral ecology—the interconnectedness between humans and the natural world.” [1]
• “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis’s encyclical, Laudato Si’. Building on a long tradition of Catholic teaching, this encyclical served both as a call to conversion and a call to action.” [1]
• “I call on all Catholics to honor Pope Francis’s legacy by taking heed of his teaching in this area.” [1]
• “Pope Leo has reminded us that the face of the earth is being ravaged, including increasingly by war, and therefore environmental justice ‘can no longer be regarded as an abstract concept or a distant goal.” [1]
The churches of this generation have largely forgotten their primary mission—to lead souls to Christ, proclaim the full counsel of God’s Word, and guide the faithful toward salvation. Every word spoken by Bishop John Arnold in his statement could have been far more valuable had it been used to preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ and labored for the advancement of truth. This is precisely why many souls will be lost in these last days, because the seed of God’s Word is not being planted in the hearts of people.
Tragically, what is actually being promoted here is the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, a framework that has already created serious problems within the churches—including Adventism. It is deeply concerning to see believers aligning themselves with initiatives that have taught the world that COVID-19 was a punishment from “Mother Earth” for environmental abuse, that pressured entire populations into receiving untested and experimental vaccines, shuttered churches, and suppressed the work of evangelism. Such alliances take us away from our God-given mission and lead the flock away from the only message that can prepare them for Christ’s soon return.
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4.

“13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. ”
Revelation 16:13-14 KJV
“13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. ”
Revelation 17:13-14 KJV
“In the seventeenth of Revelation is foretold the destruction of all the churches who corrupt themselves by idolatrous devotion to the service of the papacy, those who have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. [Revelation 17:1-4 quoted.]
Thus is represented the papal power, which with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, by outside attraction and gorgeous display, deceives all nations; promising them, as did Satan our first parents, all good to those who receive its mark, and all harm to those who oppose its fallacies. The power which has the deepest inward corruption will make the greatest display, and will clothe itself with the most elaborate signs of power. The Bible plainly declares that this covers a corrupt and deceiving wickedness. “Upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.”
What is it that gives its kingdom to this power? Protestantism, a power which, while professing to have the temper and spirit of a lamb and to be allied to Heaven, speaks with the voice of a dragon. It is moved by a power from beneath (Letter 232, 1899).
13, 14 (chs. 13:11-17; 16:13-16). A Confederacy of Satan’s Forces—[Revelation 17:13, 14 quoted.] “These have one mind.” There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan’s forces. “And shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty, freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience, as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanism.
In the warfare to be waged in the last days there will be united, in opposition to God’s people, all the corrupt powers that have apostatized from allegiance to the law of Jehovah. In this warfare the Sabbath of the fourth commandment will be the great point at issue; for in the Sabbath commandment the great Lawgiver identifies Himself as the Creator of the heavens and the earth”(Manuscript 24, 1891 7BC 983.3 – 7BC 983.7
