Had I not been sitting there, witnessing it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it. If someone had shown me a video clip online, I might have questioned whether it was AI-generated. But on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Michael Ryan—a former General Conference Vice President—delivered a 30-minute Bible reading entirely from memory, quoting various passages of Scripture. There was no commentary, just the Word, accompanied by illustrative PowerPoint images. As you’ll see in the shortened clip, there are various images of Vatican City, different popes, the Eucharistic Mass, Sunday sacredness, and other visuals depicting Catholic themes to provide context for the Bible verses.
Not only was the presentation delivered to our delegates and visitors at the session, but it was also livestreamed to a global audience across several media platforms. I’m still trying to process what I just saw and heard. I understand that it was simply a reading of Bible passages—texts that are foundational to the Seventh-day Adventist faith—and that the images shown are similar to ones I’ve seen and used for years. But to witness this at a General Conference Session is unprecedented in my experience. And I’ve been attending these sessions since 1990, with the exception of the 1995 session in Utrecht, Netherlands.
It was refreshing—an affirmation of the importance of the prophetic Word. For many of our delegates, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was their first time witnessing this kind of Scripture presentation. Let us pray that this type of presentation is not a “one-and-done” moment, with no intention of repeating. Let us pray instead that it signals a shift—that the winds of change may indeed be blowing.
In today’s culture, there is constant pressure on every side telling us to downplay or water down our distinctive message—including the Three Angels’ Messages—in order to attract larger audiences, gain broader acceptance, or increase membership and media subscriptions.
Instead, we urgently need to preserve our unique witness as Seventh-day Adventists. Our distinctive message—rooted in the everlasting gospel, the law of God, the non-immortality of the soul, the seventh-day Sabbath, the heavenly sanctuary, and the soon return of Christ—was not given to us to help us blend in, but to empower us to stand out as a light amid confusion.
We need more of this kind of media in all our churches—and much more of it. Until we recognize that prophecy is the means by which God connects us to our identity, we will struggle to grasp the true nature of our mission and message to the world.
Marvelous presentation!!!
Does anyone notice that when he mention the image of the beast, he pause, and point to the leaders table?
Hummm….
Does any know any other denomination who behave like Rome?
Any other denomination who take its members to court for calling their self with the “name of its organization”?
Any other whit pyramid government?
Any other where its clerical (doctor of the law) are the only who can interpret bible?
Any other which is sssoooo deeply involve with the gov.?
WOW! …but I bet the church won’t get the Three Angels logo back and drop the Babylonian Trinity doctrine they got from the very Beast power they identified 😞…and apologize to the thousands of members they lied to for many many years…come clean on how the leadership under Leroy Froom folded so they wouldn’t be placed in the book Kingdom of the Cults! 😡
Thank you Andy for your hard work, especially at the 62 GC conference session. I appreciate the timely questions and comments raised, and the way you are keeping us informed on the daily developments.
I hope, and dare to believe, that the change in tone and direction coming from the newly elected leadership will continue and expand. The shacking is in full swing and, by prayer and fasting, we need to hold on and redouble our resolve to live for God (under His Spirit’s leading and control) in these last days.
Where’s Jesus Christ in this?
Do we not know it’s our relationship with Him that will carry us through to the end.
Do not the ones we’ve been commissioned to labor for deserve to know that critical piece??
It is only a 6 minute summary to highlight the beast. The other 24 minutes highlight Christ, His atonement, His love, and His soon return which is not included simply because I wanted to show that the GC Session didn’t hold back on connecting the dots on the beast (papacy) and the Sunday law crisis.
This same man, Mike Ryan said: “The Jesuits are our friends and advisers”! to David Gates. See 3 min. video here: http://www.tinyur.com/free-mikeryan David’s wife was there too. A personal one on one meeting Ryan said that to David. So, Ryan can act like he wants to give the third angel’s message, but he is only preaching to the choir. He was not preaching this to all the folks in St. Louis. He used the word “our” which means the conference leadership at the GC headquarters where he was working as VP there when he met David Gates. Please do not drink the wine from these conference leaders!!!
That video link returns a virus notice…hmmm… very important link I wonder of there is another way to get that out. What you are pointing out is very important. Like T W ‘s speeches and sermons were always fiery and conservative while his actual leadership decisions were opposite…
Appears to be a snare. No David Gates video at that URL
Thank you for the clarification. Have been thinking, even Christ didn’t reveal teachings to the disciples knowing that weren’t ready for some things.
Blessings on you Pastor Roman
This Bible memorization presentation was inspiring and well done. Thank you for sharing this GC highlight.
Nice memorization, a lot of reading, re-reading, and love for the Word hopefully.
The Vatican flag is gone.
This next:
Examining the traditional method of counting a name (gematria or numerology).
The idea that Revelation 13:18 is inviting us to count the name of the beast by assigning numbers to letters (like using Greek or Hebrew gematria) is popular, but not explicitly supported by any biblical principle or command.
Let’s examine this critically and biblically:
⸻
📖 Revelation 13:17–18 — What Does It Say?
“…the number of his name.”
“Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Rev. 13:17–18)
This is often taken as license for name arithmetic, but…
⸻
❌ Is Name-Counting (Gematria) a Biblical Principle?
No — Not as a Divine Instruction.
• Nowhere in Scripture are we ever instructed to interpret someone’s character or identity by counting the numerical value of their name using alphabets.
• This practice comes from pagan systems, especially:
• Greek gematria
• Kabbalistic Judaism
• Babylonian numerology
Example of what isn’t in the Bible:
• You will not find anywhere that says: “Add the letters of a name to understand the person’s nature.”
• There is no instruction from God or Jesus or the prophets to use numerical equivalents of names to decode spiritual truth.
It’s doing after the manner of the Papacy- mixing pagan philosophy with scripture and teaching it as Bible doctrine

Interesting how the greatest assault on Adventism ever, the pagan trinity, never came to the table.
It also never appears in the book The Great Controversy, none of the editions. That’s because the Sabbath will be the great test for the last days. We only have one Loud Cry/Latter Rain message, and it’s not the one you’re referring to.
