“Light has been given me that the cities will be filled with confusion, violence, and crime, and that these things will increase till the end of this earth’s history” (Testimonies, Vol. 7, p. 84).
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, tensions in Los Angeles escalated as thousands of pro-migrant rioters, agitators, and protesters took to the streets to create havoc and chaos. President Donald Trump responded by deploying the National Guard after federal law enforcement officials were attacked on Friday and Saturday. [1] Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that active-duty Marines were on high alert after mobs of violent protesters assaulted ICE agents conducting raids targeting illegal migrants. [2]
“The unbelieving world will soon have something to think of besides their dress and appearance; and as their minds are torn from these things by distress and perplexity, they will have nothing to turn to.” (Testimonies, Vol. 1, p. 268).
People fail to realize that the Word of God has clearly warned us—sin and the moral decay of this world will not improve but will only spiral deeper into darkness.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13.
The Bible never teaches that a perfect, utopian society will rise in this fallen world. On the contrary, it warns that evil will increase, deception will deepen, and chaos will abound.
“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1 John 5:19.
In the last days, anarchy will prevail.
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12.
The distress of nations will be seen.
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” Luke 21:25.
This is all proof that the perils of the last days are upon us:
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (no self-control), fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” 2 Timothy 3:1-4.
God’s Word leaves no room for doubt—our society is plunging headlong into lawlessness at every level, from the highest positions of power to the streets below. Rage, frustration, and moral decay are exploding across the nation, and the violence and anarchy we see now are only the beginning. The wave of riots, bloodshed, and chaos will not subside—it will intensify. Bible prophecy has long warned of this exact crisis, and we are now witnessing those warnings come to life in real time.
“Once more the inhabitants of the earth were presented before me; and again everything was in the utmost confusion. Strife, war, and bloodshed, with famine and pestilence, raged everywhere. Other nations were engaged in this war and confusion. War caused famine. Want and bloodshed caused pestilence. And then men’s hearts failed them for fear, ‘and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth’.” (Testimonies, Vol. 1, p. 268).
“The time of trouble has already begun. We hear continually of riots and accidents, of murders and robberies. Human life is no longer safe unless under the protection of God.” (Manuscript Release, Vol. 21, p. 101).
So, is there hope for us? Absolutely—our hope is in God! But He lovingly calls us to respond with a sincere and committed heart, trusting that as we take steps toward Him, He will strengthen and guide us every step of the way.
“The perils of the last days are soon to come upon us. Already they have come. Now is the time to put forth earnest effort to overcome the natural tendencies of the carnal heart. Our efforts, our self-denial, our perseverance, must be proportionate to the infinite value of the object of which we are in pursuit. Only by overcoming as Christ overcame shall we win the crown of life” (Testimonies, Vol. 8, p. 315).
