During the Sunday, July 6, 2025, afternoon business meeting, the motion was made to adopt “Item 204,” which deals with appropriating funds. If adopted, the proposal would empower top church leaders, who meet twice a year as the General Conference Executive Committee, to reallocate funds from across the world field using an undefined “methodology,” allowing them to direct resources toward the church’s mission as they deem appropriate.
The motion states:
• “204. Appropriations—Constitution and Bylaws Amendment, Article XIX, Sec. 1: The General Conference Executive Committee shall make its regular appropriations to the world field at Spring Meetings or Annual Councils. These appropriations are to be based on a methodology that promotes mission priorities to be fulfilled through the work of world divisions and other denominational entities.”
Before the vote, Timothy Standish argued that approving the motion would go against the message from God delivered through Ellen White. He stated that the proposed change would consolidate more power within the General Conference rather than decentralizing authority. According to him, adopting the motion would constitute a rebellion against divine instruction.
As a result of his spirited speech, the motion was tabled, effectively stoping the proposal to expand the authority of the General Conference Executive Committee—for now.

Praise God… It is just flat out appalling what money, power, compromise and flat out self righteousness is doing to the professing people of God. The laodacean church, SOP says is applicable to us as Seventh Day adventist. Half love for the world, half love for God. God requires all undivided . One of the greatest sins of this age in this time of God’s people besides the above is coveteousness! Can definitely see it all unfolding. If you claim to follow Jesus Christ as your savior as I do. We need to fall on our knees in REPENTENCE individually and corporatley, seeking the face of the Lord with an undivided heart, in earnestnest like never before. A decieved person does not know they are decieved!! Lord show us our sin( which He is) so that we can confess and draw nigh to you and each other in the undiluted blood stained WORD OF God. Lord heal your people, expose our sins, right the ship as you have promised. Let those down trodden, quieted people rise in the strenght of God to stand for the right though the heavens fall, let those faithful to your Glory, speak up the straight test with no fear, regardless of consequences to seek and safe the lost. Let us not be cast away because of our pride and self righteousness. Let us hear the still small voice, to proclaim from the roof tops that our God is our leader, He fights the battles of His faithful. Hear our prayers Lord expose and strengthen in your mercy. Let sin have no refuge in your house! Let us be meek and humble but settled I. The truth to not be moves by sin, let it be repugnanant and foul to your people as it is to you. Heal your, broken and down trodden, let those chains be busted assunder and heaped on those who refuse to see and hear, that choose sin and darkness over love and light. Reclaim your sheep.
