What was once a Protestant-dominated nation has gradually shifted, as Catholic leaders have risen to prominent roles across both political parties, the Supreme Court, and major positions at various government levels. This “takeover” is seen not as a conspiracy theory, but as the fulfillment of a long-term strategy to reshape American values and policies to reflect Catholic doctrine, something that Jesuits have openly boasted about.
Commonweal is an online Catholic news source for those who want to engage in discussions about faith, politics, public affairs, and culture from a traditional Catholic perspective. [1] Back in 2012, David Gibson, Director for the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham Jesuit University, published an article in the Commonweal titled “The Catholic Takeover of the U.S. is Almost Complete” and was boasting about how Roman Catholics had taken over most of the key positions in the federal government at that time.
In his article, the Jesuit David Gibson mocks Charles C. Marshall, a Protestant attorney from New York who, in 1927, published an open letter in The Atlantic Monthly addressed to Governor Alfred E. Smith—the first Catholic to run for the U.S. presidency, who ultimately lost to Herbert Hoover in the 1928 election. Marshall questioned whether a devout Catholic could fully uphold the U.S. Constitution, given the Catholic Church’s teachings on the relationship between church and state. [2]
The Jesuit David Gibson expressed that Charles C. Marshall, today, “must be rolling in his grave” to see how Roman Catholics have almost taken over America, implying that the Protestant attorney from New York would be furious by how little his influence matters now. It is a taunt that emphasizes satisfaction that the Protestant legacy in American politics is being undone.
The Jesuit Gibson published the following in 2012 in the Catholic journal Commonweal:
• “Upon the passing of Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, a war hero from WWII, leaving Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey the sole remaining WWII veteran in Congress, Senator Pat Leahy of Vermont becomes the President pro tempore of the Senate and, I believe, the first Catholic to hold the position.” [3]
• “Indeed, if Senator John Kerry is nominated and confirmed to be Secretary of State, the four offices in line of succession to the presidency will all be held by Catholics: Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker John Boehner, Senator Leahy, and Secretary Kerry.” [3]
• “Still, with six Catholics on the Supreme Court, Charles C. Marshall must be rolling in his grave.” [3]
If the Catholic takeover of the U.S. was almost complete in 2012, where are we today? It is fully being completed right now when you consider the growing influence of Roman Catholics in American political life, particularly during Donald Trump’s second administration. With numerous Catholic appointments to key positions in the Cabinet, judiciary, and advisory roles, many within the Church have seen this as a strategic opportunity to advance Catholic priorities into national policy. Some have even called Donald Trump’s second administration “the most Catholic administration in history.” [4]
These are signs that Rome’s triumph is almost complete here in America and that a Sunday law is coming soon. She has scaled the walls of our institutions and is influencing apostate Protestantism to do her bidding. Rome will continue to dominate the political and religious landscape here in “Protestant” America, even under the Trump administration. The stage is being set for the final act in the drama. With prophetic accuracy, the Spirit of Prophecy identifies the Jesuit Order as the most “powerful” of all the “champions” of the Papacy to “overthrow Protestantism” and to re-establish “papal supremacy.”
“The order of the Jesuits was created, the most cruel, unscrupulous, and powerful of all the champions of popery … Under various disguises the Jesuits worked their way into offices of State, climbing up to be the counselors of kings, and shaping the policy of nations … The Jesuits rapidly spread themselves over Europe, and wherever they went, there followed a revival of popery” (Great Controversy, 234).
Are we seeing the end of the U.S. Constitution and the final sell-out of all our civil and religious liberties? It is very possible. Changes are coming, strategies are being implemented, and plans are being made to undermine our long-standing values of liberty and freedom. It’s coming. There is no question about that. What we need now is for God’s people to rise up and finish the work that has been assigned to them in taking the Three Angels’ Message to the world. The Remnant Church must fulfill its God-given mission while there is still time.

Thank you advent messenger, for having the courage & fidelity to state what should be obvious to all true Christians. Ironically, I saw a Catholic woman on YouTube today essentially saying the same thing as your article – about her own church and was appalled! Perhaps the rocks cry out when necessary!
