Jonathan Berry, known as “Mr. Sunday Law” for his public advocacy of bringing back Blue laws, has officially advanced one step closer to becoming the next Solicitor of the U.S. Department of Labor. On June 26, 2025, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted to move his nomination forward, clearing the way for a full hearing and vote in the Senate chamber. If confirmed, Berry would serve as the top legal officer in the Department of Labor, giving him significant influence over labor policy, workplace regulations, and religious accommodations. His nomination is raising eyebrows among those concerned about the growing entanglement of church and state, particularly in the context of labor reform and Sunday rest advocacy.

We are witnessing a dangerous and deliberate shift as politicians and political appointees are no longer concealing their intent to use government as a tool to resurrect and restore Christianity in America. When civil power is hijacked to enforce religious doctrines, the line between church and state is not just crossed—it’s obliterated. This is not merely a misguided political movement; it is the fulfillment of Revelation’s warning about a false revival that will use state authority to enforce worship, leading to the formation of the image of the beast (Revelation 13:13–14).
As lawmakers desperately attempt to “save” society, we will see an increasing push for religious legislation: Ten Commandments displayed on government property, Bible reading and prayer mandated in public schools, and the revival of Sunday as the state-endorsed day of worship. While they may appear as acts of patriotism and morality, they actually mark the start of a prophetic crisis and religious tyranny.
“When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near” (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 451).

They are desperately attempting to “save society”. Men cannot save! These attempts and failures have been seen in history at the cost of the lives and the salvation of many. If people would humble themselves and turn to the Word of God – Prophecy, they would be careful to see that this will not end well for themselves and many who follow, if they continue in this path. For Christ is the only Savior, not man:

“”And he had two horns like a lamb.” The lamblike horns indicate youth, innocence, and gentleness, fitly representing the character of the United States when presented to the prophet as “coming up” in 1798. Among the Christian exiles who first fled to America and sought an asylum from royal oppression and priestly intolerance were many who determined to establish a government upon the broad foundation of civil and religious liberty. Their views found place in the Declaration of Independence, which sets forth the great truth that “all men are created equal” and endowed with the inalienable right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” And the Constitution guarantees to the people the right of self-government, providing that representatives elected by the popular vote shall enact and administer the laws. Freedom of religious faith was also granted, every man being permitted to worship God according to the dictates of his conscience. Republicanism and Protestantism became the fundamental principles of the nation. These principles are the secret of its power and prosperity. The oppressed and downtrodden throughout Christendom have turned to this land with interest and hope. Millions have sought its shores, and the United States has risen to a place among the most powerful nations of the earth.
But the beast with lamblike horns “spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed; … saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” Revelation 13:11-14.
The lamblike horns and dragon voice of the symbol point to a striking contradiction between the professions and the practice of the nation thus represented. The “speaking” of the nation is the action of its legislative and judicial authorities. By such action it will give the lie to those liberal and peaceful principles which it has put forth as the foundation of its policy. The prediction that it will speak “as a dragon” and exercise “all the power of the first beast” plainly foretells a development of the spirit of intolerance and persecution that was manifested by the nations represented by the dragon and the leopardlike beast. And the statement that the beast with two horns “causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast” indicates that the authority of this nation is to be exercised in enforcing some observance which shall be an act of homage to the papacy.” GC 441.1 – GC 442.1
