If it was such a “sin” for the flag to be displayed, then surely delegates would have made mention of it. If Elder Wilson indeed said it represents nations not yet reached, what is wrong about that? There were no Adventist presence in Somalia (as of 2019). Does that mean that the flag of Somalia should not be displayed? Are people who live in Rome not candidates for salvation?

As was mentioned, this flag was displayed as a country that has not YET been reached. And in answer to your judgemental comment, yes, there are at least two SDA churches in Rome. Remember, Rome is a country, not just a church and there are many in both the country of Rome and in the Catholic Church that will come out.
Rome is not currently a country. Rome is a city and is the capital of Italy. There are Adventists churches in Italy and in Rome, Italy is not unreached by Adventists. Vatican City, however, represents a church, a business and a sovereign kingdom nation/country. It is geographically a small country inside Rome (like Lesotho is inside South Africa, and Lesotho people are not South African but are Southern African) but is separate from modern day Rome and Italy and has its own flag which is separate from the Italian flag. No one is born a citizen of Vatican City, all citizens of Vatican City are born citizens of other countries. I agree with you. The event is being taken out of contest. The message given in the morning by Pr Wilson is very clear but an act of reaching out to those that are out of the remnant is magnified and taken out of contest.

Jesus Christ is the Head of the church. He is her foundation, walls and builder. He is the husband of the church. That means He was in charge of that session.
However, we know that the church that is today is the church militant. So we expect to see some dirty things. But if you are well observant, you’d see that when the devil through men, brought up weighty issues against Biblical principles to be voted into the policy and fundamental statements of the church, God intervened. Remember the experience of Job in scripture and what happened behind the scenes. The sons of God gathered and Satan came too. But you see like in the story of Job, Satan had his limits because God is the supreme ruler. He couldn’t cross the boundaries given him.
So if there are certain things that we think may have gone wrong or seems to connote something bad, then let us get to study more the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy to discern clearly the meaning of all these things and the signs of the time. Let us also pray for God’s remnant church and for all in position of trust.
While the SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH is not Babylon and can never be, yet I know that there are Babylonians in the church trying to corrupt her. They are wolves in sheep clothings. So let us watch and pray the more for the church. We are the church, we are one as brethren, and we must be our brother’s keeper.

Well, from all I’ve seen about Ted Wilson, he does NOT possess the best intentions for our church. He vacillates all too often on topics. Take Africa for instance during the civil party taking sides, when the one church location was being ripped apart from within. He flip-flopped disgustingly so several times. For him to allow the Roman Catholic Church flag to be flown, makes me wonder about him.
To hear how they elected and re-elected him was unacceptable. A private or secret ballot voting is wrong in so many ways. Makes me think just how much it reflect how Congress has been operating. Shameful. We are supposed to be different than secular & political environments, so why is this happening, other than to say the Canaanites are in the land no IFs, ANDs, or BUTTs about it all.

However this text applies to the setting up of a spurious Sabbath by the Beast system through the American government. It is referring to the National Sunday Law not the church.
But as things happen about us and in the church, we should never leave the church. The promise remains that the sinners in Zion will be sifted out, the wheat will be separated from the tares. This is God’s special work to be performed in His church. Let us not be deceived to leave the church.
We may see even worse things happen in the church but we must not dwell so much on them that we become discouraged. We must look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. We must remain in the ship and focus on our Captain and not the storm. This is where our safety lies.
