On Sabbath morning, June 5, 2025, President Erton Köhler delivered the sermon during the 62nd General Conference Session. His message, titled “Boldness in Mission,” was presented to a full house at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and was broadcast to a global audience via livestream.
Pastor Köhler spoke about the early Christian church called by Jesus—a small group entrusted with a great mission. He emphasized that they were singularly focused on their calling.
He noted that this group was united in prayer, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and marked by boldness as they spoke the word of God with conviction (Acts 4:29). As a result, they filled Jerusalem with their doctrine (Acts 5:28). Pastor Köhler highlighted that their boldness led to accusations of turning the world upside down (Acts 17:6). He pointed out that the early believers did not ask for peace, money, or material blessings—but for boldness in mission.
Drawing a parallel between the early Apostolic church, which received the early rain, and the remnant church, which will receive the latter rain, Pastor Köhler read from Revelation 10:11—a passage identified as a description of the Adventist movement. “‘Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.’” He explained that this is a divine call to boldness.
Addressing Seventh-day Adventists worldwide, Pastor Köhler stressed that people must act with urgency and boldness in these final moments of earth’s history. He stressed that the Three Angels’ Messages must be proclaimed, as Scripture says, “with a loud voice”—a symbol of boldness. According to Pastor Köhler, boldness is the only way the church can reach the billions of people still waiting to hear the gospel.
In closing, he shared inspiring examples of faithful Adventists around the world who are embodying boldness in mission and urged the global church to follow their lead and get involved.
A Solemn Prophetic Consideration— There is one critical area within Adventism that went unmentioned in President Köhler’s address—an area where boldness is not just lacking but desperately needed. Ellen G. White’s solemn words in Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 200, are an alarm bell, calling for unwavering boldness and fidelity. Her words are not a historical footnote—they are a prophetic warning that needs to echo in every church, educational institution, hospital system, and yes, the very halls of the 62nd General Conference Session.
“I am instructed to speak plainly. ‘Meet it,’ is the word spoken to me. ‘Meet it firmly, and without delay’ … In the book Living Temple there is presented the alpha of deadly heresies. The omega will follow, and will be received by those who are not willing to heed the warning God has given” (Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 200).
The urgency that President Erton Köhler places on missions must not eclipse the urgency found in the Spirit of Prophecy that says, “Meet it firmly and without delay.” This is a divine mandate to actively confront apostasy with unflinching boldness. To “meet it firmly” means to act with conviction and spiritual boldness, cutting out the unclean influences that threaten to spread like a cancer in the body of Christ.
The alpha of apostasy was a deadly threat in Ellen White’s day, but that was only the beginning and a shadow of something far worse to come. Today, the omega is challenging the very identity of Adventism—and only those who, with holy boldness, submit to God’s divine counsel to “meet it” will stand firm until the end.
If we combine boldness in mission with a genuine pursuit of revival and reformation, we have a powerful, heaven-approved formula for finishing the work. Boldness gives us the courage to speak truth in love and to proclaim the everlasting gospel without fear. At the same time, boldness in revival and reformation prepares our hearts and minds to receive the power of the latter rain in fullness. With a bold mission and an urgency for spiritual purification, the church becomes unstoppable. This is how we help prepare a people to stand in the final crisis and to be ready for the glorious return of Jesus.
Mission is indeed the lifeblood of the church, but you cannot evangelize your way out of a spiritual crisis. Wrongs need to be met head-on for the sake of evangelism. Turning a blind eye to error doesn’t make it disappear—it allows it to fester and spread like wildfire. Apostasy left unchecked will only grow more aggressive, more brazen. We must remember that seeking purity in the church is a mission as well. If we are serious about finishing the work, we must be just as serious about rooting out all the things that hinder God’s mission.
Let us ask ourselves how it is today and repent of our sins so that we may be ready to welcome Jesus as King.
Every reformation was followed by deeper apostasy.
For more than a thousand years the Jewish people had awaited the Saviour’s coming. Upon this event they had rested their brightest hopes. In song and prophecy, in temple rite and household prayer, they had enshrined His name. And yet at His coming they knew Him not. Isaiah 53:2; John 1:11. DA 27.1
…
But the Israelites fixed their hopes upon worldly greatness. From the time of their entrance to the land of Canaan, they departed from the commandments of God, and followed the ways of the heathen. It was in vain that God sent them warning by His prophets. …
Every reformation was followed by deeper apostasy. DA 28.1
…
During the centuries that followed, they suffered from the oppression of heathen foes, until the conviction became fixed that their prosperity depended upon their obedience to the law of God. But with too many of the people obedience was not prompted by love. The motive was selfish. . DA 28.5
…
But the Jews lost the spiritual life from their ceremonies, and clung to the dead forms. DA 29.2
While the Jews desired the advent of the Messiah, they had no true conception of His mission. They did not seek redemption from sin, but deliverance from the Romans. …
Thus the way was prepared for them to reject the Saviour. DA 29.4
At the time of the birth of Christ the nation was chafing under the rule of her foreign masters, and racked with internal strife. DA 30.1
…
They had studied the prophecies, but without spiritual insight. Thus they overlooked those scriptures that point to the humiliation of Christ’s first advent, and misapplied those that speak of the glory of His second coming. Pride obscured their vision. They interpreted prophecy in accordance with their selfish desires. DA 30.2
I am still praying and studying, but you hit it on the head. Man has plans apart from God that sound good to the unrenewed heart. This who disciple push is red flags all over it. It is a perfect companion to the Discipleshift book that is straight out of the daughters to grow churches. Mathew 28, what 16-20 they push disciple, but God’s word pushes gospel. 1 Cor 12 an 13 are pertenant as well as 2 Cor 5 an 6… Compromise never is condoned in God’s word or SOP. God is calling out sin, and exposing it. Will we heed the call of repentance, many do not see, and have no ears to hear. Repent and overcome, Jesus says to the 7 churches. But the blessing is only for those who watch and pray. I say yes Lord! I will follow your way not mans.
Meet it🙏Meet it firmly and without delay🙏Meet it🙏Without Delay.
You are absolutely right bro Andy.
How could we “boldly” take the 3rd Angel’s Message to the world which exposes the “man of sin”, his deceptions, and inner workings while we are connected to this nation through ecumenism and the UN?
We cannot tell people the Present Truth unless less we are sanctified by the truth first! When we are made Holy by the truth, by obeying the truth, then our words, deeds, conduct, and actions will demonstrate that we believe it through our testimony and witness! And they will believe us!
Let us not deceived! Anyone who want to invite people to their house to share the 3rd Angel’s Message with them, while the house is dirty and filthy is not honest, and they are self deceived. The impression they will leave will destroy their profession.
Yep! God is calling for repentance in His people, all of us! He can not pour the later rain upon an unclean people. Prepare your hearts, repent overcome in the blood of the lamb. We are in the day of atonement, repent and confess or be cast out. I will serve the Lord
“boldness”? Just ask the faithful members of South America. He was not elected, he was build. They even gave him english classes because he did not know the language. This congress is the last opportunity for SDA Corp. and they start with the left foot.
So was Erton Kohler scheduled to present the Sabbath sermon prior to being elected as the new president? Wondering how he was so prepared.
Interesting? Anyone?
I Would like to remind the newly elected President of Seventh Day Adventists Erton Kohler, that ”Apostacy ” Started a very long time ago, during the time of our pioneers . There was this guy called ” John Harvey Kellog” he was educated by James and Ellen White since the days of his childhood , and he established his own sanitarium . He then went ahead and wrote a very famous book which was the beggining of apostacy ”Alpha of Apostacy” The Living Temple” this book was speaking about the (pantheism)” .This doctrine says, that God is everywhere and everything that you touch is God. Ellen White adviced him not to include his new theories , but he chose to ignore her advice?” Harvey Kellog tries to get approval from the ”Autumn Council” for his book. Ellen White then wrote a letter to then President of General Conference Arthur G. Daniells not to publish his book.
John Harvey Kellog took his manuscripts to the Review and Herald Publishing House and it was published. Ellen White had warned earlier of not working on the wrong principals”.( Manuscript 37,p.38,1901)” The people have lost confidence in those who have management of the work. Yet we hear the Voice of conference is the voice of God.Every time i have heard this. I have thought this was almost blasphemy”. As a result of ignoring the wise counsel of the” Message of the Lord ”,the Battle Creek Sanitarium and the Review and publishing printing office was burnt down to the ground. This is because the publishing house was meant only to publish the messages of present truth and not the Apostacy of the Roman Church.
So, John Harvey Kellog Was one of the many leaders in the S.D.A church who brought the apostacy and he was a Jesuit who was acting under the disguise of being an Adventist only to bring apostacy which would finally culminate the fall of adventism which had the firm foundation from the founding pioneers. This book ”the Living Temple caused a lot of controversy among the members and Ellen White tells A.G .Daniells to be very careful on how he handles this book and A.G .Daniels especially it was not giving a clear picture about the God’s PERSONALITY. A.G. Daniels was afraid of convening a vote , so, he feared the supporters of this doctrine of pantheism would cause confrontation. Remember the Pioneers believed that there are two beings God and Christ , and Kellog had started to dispute this, because he started to believe in the trinity doctrine which S.D.A church today believes in. Kellog believed in God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit, and he went ahead and stated that it was the God the Holy Ghost , and not God the Father that filled the space and all the living thing. This was the beggining of the Apostacy in the S.D.A church ” Alpha of Apostacy?” Omega was startling in nature?
I have strong doubts in regards to our new president. In Brazil they have planted new churches called Novo Semente, churches like those planted in the US witch are similar to rock concerts, more Pentecostal than anything else. I do believe he backed this. In Argentina they permit women elders who are ordained.
https://adventismoemfoco.com/2010/12/09/presidente-mundial-visita-nova-semente/ Here he says, in regards to these new churches, you have to use different methods to reach different people. Typical student of Rick Warren, give the people what they want but do not give them Christ, they might not like it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoSJN-DOh2w&t=1s In this video you can see how the church helped support those who did a pilgrimage to the lady of Aparecida.

Our radio Nuevo Tiempo is taking a wrong path for several years already. They promote continuously a pastor who is ecumenical, supports women ordination and gave a lecture at an SDA University in the US with Dante Gebel telling the future pastors that they should not preach about sin, people do not want to hear that, you have to use the right bait, no revelation, no third angels message just love. His name is Pastor Bullon. This is the star of our radio and TV here. This pastor also preached a sermon telling everyone it was alright to kiss the catholic crucifix.
I do pray he has changed and fights against all this apostasy.
